November 2007 Event
It's a gift :: Worsley Arms, Hovingham
Jules Wyman was our guest speaker this time. Jules is a confidence coach and you can visit her website www.positive-belief.co.uk for more information.
Jules gave an uplifting talk, with a little bit of collective audience participation, to introduce us to confidence coaching. For those who attended the event, remember to be AWAKE.
A few of the members also displayed stands with there services and, as the theme was 'it's a gift', some products and services to buy.
Round the room introductions were dropped this time and replaced by a 'introduce yourself to someone you haven't talked to before' activity. Let us know if you thought this was better, worse or should be done along with the 'round the room' style introductions.

PRomoting 4 PRofit :: Worsley Arms, Hovingham
Another well attended and busy event. Angela Sherwood of One Hit PR gave the main presentation . Angela gave an inspiring presentation with her innovative PR hints and tips in addition to other marketing tips. As many members has expressed an interest in PR and marketing then hopefully this was all well received.
The ever-popular ‘round the room’ introductions and general general networking and buffet followed.
May 2007 Event
Ryedale Business Club’s May Event was held at The Worsley Arms, Hovingham on 22nd May.
There was a spot of speed-networking (not speed-dating!). Becoming
increasingly popular, speed-networking helps you to hone your ‘pitch’ to
perfection as you try to get your message across - against the clock!
This was a bit of fun with a serious side to it - most found it useful.
March 2007 Event
Ryedale Business Club’s March meeting was held on
Tuesday 27 March 2007 at The Worsley Arms, Hovingham.
A
brief budget update by Townsend Harrison was followed by Anna Addison who runs Anna Addison Associates - a
public relations business, based in the Tees Valley, offering an individual,
tailored service to companies wanting to stand out from the crowd whether
on TV and radio or in local, regional, national, international or trade
publications.
Anna has over ten years’ experience of working in the media. From the age
of 17 this was with the BBC, working as a broadcast journalist in TV and
radio and also in management working on high profile events such as
Children in Need and Music Live. This has led to an extensive contacts list
and communication and writing skills that are second to none. We are
delighted that Anna has agreed to share her skills and knowledge with us -
please make every effort to attend this meeting and encourage lots of
business associates to book a place. (See Anna's press release for this event).
An opportunity for everyone to introduce themselves and their businesses
followed and then a buffet and further networking between attendees occured.
The event was well attended with a packed room of some new faces adding to the normal regulars.
January 2007 Event
Was held on January 23rd at Malton & Norton Golf Club,
Welham Park,
Malton
North Yorkshire,
England,
YO17 9QE
The event was well attended and the recent marketing attempts and word of mouth appear to have encouraged several new faces to attend the event and see what the Ryedale Business Club was all about.
The main feature for this event was a presentation by Ryedale Busniess Club member, Wendy Hoare from Amisyst. Wendy is an expert when it comes to using databases to reduce the time spent on admin (who wants to spend a minute longer than they have to?) as well as using them to deliver a superior service to customers.
Wendy's presentation and database demonstration was interesting and informative. The Amisyst system has been designed for small businesses and offers a viable alternative to some of the off-the-shelf alternatives that may not quite meet your requirements. The Amisyst system has been created locally by Wendy and can be customised by her to meet your requirements. This last point was kindly followed up on by Angie Mazs of The Classic Champagne Company who gave a short presentation on The Classic Champagne Company and how the Amisyst system had met her additional requirements, saved her time, money and provided additional information - at the click of a button.
